Where’s Waldo? He’s hiding on Fourth Avenue! There are prizes, discounts and more for those who find him hiding along the Avenue and around Downtown Tucson.
The Find Waldo Local initiative is actually part of a larger nation-wide search during the month of July. Every year, Find Waldo Local invites children to pick up event passports at any of 250 participating indie bookstores across the country. These passports guide Waldo seekers on scavenger hunts through local small business communities, as children and families look for the elusive bespectacled picture book character to earn stamps toward fun prizes. The nationwide event is co-sponsored by Candlewick Press and the American Booksellers Association.
Antigone Books is bringing this tradition to Tucson! During the month of July, you will find Waldo hiding in shops around Fourth Avenue and Downtown Tucson. Starting July 1, stop by Antigone Books to pick up your Find Waldo Local Passport. Every time you find Waldo, you will get a stamp in your passport from the shop owner. Fill out a passport book where ever you see him – and you could be eligible for discounts at Antigone and prize packs at the end of July.
The event is free to participate in, and Waldo seekers of all ages are encouraged to find Waldo around Fourth Avenue and Downtown Tucson. It’s especially fun for kids, so families are encouraged to participate.
Antigone Books is located at 411 N. Fourth Avenue in Tucson, AZ. For more information about Find Waldo Local or other events at Antigone Books, keep up with Antigone Books online at facebook.com.
