We’ve Got the Scoop: Desert Dream Ice Cream Now Open

You’re not dreaming! Desert Dream Ice Cream is now open and bringing some sweetness to the Avenue. The locally-owned ice cream shop opened mid-November in their new home, the space that formerly housed Isabella’s Ice Cream.

Desert Dream Ice Cream might be new to the Fourth Avenue community, but the ice cream shop has been in Tucson for a few years. The shop was formerly located at the southeast corner of Speedway & Campbell. The company was previously owned by Alden Greene, who operated an ice cream shop in Maine before moving to Tucson and opening Desert Dream Ice Cream.

Greene sold the business to a customer, Zech Bergeron (pictured above), who has been learning from Greene and making ice cream in the new space since the move to Fourth Avenue. Bergeron co-owns the operation now with his brother, Noah Bergeron. Greene still maintains a position at the new location, and can even be seen making ice cream in the back.
